To all who are traveling by land to this historic event, a little local information to help you work your way around the 2nd worst traffic in the country. Time your travels carefully. This is during favorable weather conditions.
Morning rush starts @ 5am and will continue with heavy volume past 10am. Back ups begin @ 6am.
Evening rush. Fed Gov starts releasing its workers @ 2:30 pm. in 30 min intervals till 5pm. Heaviest volume is from about 4pm till 7pm.
There is massive road construction on I495 around the exits that will lead you to the Chantilly VA. Be alert as some exits literally change from week to week. Keep in mind people travel every morning to inside the D.C. beltway from MD, VA, WV, PA, and yes DE. If you get bored while sitting in traffic, keep track of how many out of state plates you see.

20 minutes north of event. I have room in my drive for 1 or 2 RV’s will provide water and electric. Location is Hwy 28 and Route 7 just north of Dulles Airport. Willing to shuttle some folks from airport if needed. Additionally there is a Super Walmart at Hwy 28 & Nokes Blvd. Rv’s and buses welcome.
